With EVDO, the Ocean is also perfect for Instant Messaging (IM). Helio already included icons that sign in their subscribers to Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Live Messenger, and AOL AIM. With the “Presence Detection” feature of the Ocean, once you sync up your phonebook with the IM clients, your Ocean will let you know if any of your friends are online. Plus, their full contact details like phone number, email address, street address, and homepage URL will pop up as the phone alerts you.

With EVDO support, the Helio Ocean also allows you to download and play Java games, enjoy 3D and online multiplayer games, and other fun applications. The Ocean also works wonders with its Global Positioning System (GPS) capability. GPS programs like Garmin Mobile Maps or Google Maps can be accessed on the Ocean. Driving directions and finding the nearest places to go has been more convenient thanks to Helio’s Ocean.
